Climate Campaign
Yale Climate Campaign focuses on combating global climate change by advocating sustainable energy policies at campus, state, and national levels. This year we successfully worked with other student groups to persuade Yale University to commit to a 10% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions below 1990 levels by 2020. Current and upcoming projects include specifically advocating for and education about renewable energy use, strong fuel efficiency guidelines for Yale transportation, and increased efficiency and conservation in science buildings on campus. Environmental Education
The Environmental Education Project serves as an important arm of YSEC's mission to spread environmental awareness. This year, lesson plans were crafted, targeting 5th graders, to explain the science of global warming, as well as potential consequences and solutions. We plan to connect with classrooms in the New Haven area, making presentations to the people most likely to be impacted by global climate change, young children. We are looking for creative, high-energy volunteers to teach this semester, spreading their passion for the environment to others. Any students interested in drawing up additional lesson plans on environmental topics are welcome to bring their ideas to meetings. Come give the gift of knowledge and help us cultivate future YSEC leaders! For more informations please contact: TBA
